Aftercare

Being in the habit of caring for your piercings twice a day will assist them in healing faster. Add piercing aftercare to your daily self care routine.

  1. Rinse your ear with tepid water in the shower, to soften debris and avoid buildup. 
  2. Spray your piercing twice a day for approximately 4-8 weeks with NeilMed Piercing Aftercare Mist. 
  3. Gently pat dry with a clean cotton pad or tip, or a hairdryer on the cool setting.
  4. Ensure the ear area is dried off completely and avoid going to bed with wet hair.

To ensure your new piercing heals as efficiently as possible, your Ear Alchemy aftercare experience continues with nutrition and lifestyle advice. Created by a qualified naturopath, aligned with professional piercing and healthcare standards, our protocol takes a comprehensive approach to ensure optimal healing and promote cartilage renewal.

Healing hack: increase your intake of vitamin C, zinc, silica and collagen to optimise cartilage renewal and aid healing.

Downsizing

Your initial piercing is fitted with a longer back post to account for swelling. Once the swelling subsides, you may require a downsize to improve comfort and healing. This is when a piercer will install a shorter back post that sits snugly against the front and back of the ear.

Not receiving a downsize may lead to an increase in movement of the earring, which may cause irritation and unnecessary swelling or prolonged healing.

Your first downsize is complimentary, ensure you book an Aftercare appointment within 6-8 weeks of your piercing to check if you’re ready to downsize.

Ear Spa

Once your new piercing has started to heal and you’ve had your downsize, you can book a complimentary Ear Spa appointment. Your Sarah & Sebastian earrings will be professionally cleaned with an Ultrasonic cleaner and polished to restore the natural brilliance of your diamonds. Your ears are then gently cleansed and revitalised before your earrings are re-installed.

A refreshing modern ritual, this service is also the perfect opportunity to elevate your ear compositions with pieces from your wishlist or to explore new designs from our latest collections.
