Yes, all piercing appointments must be pre-booked online. Piercing appointments are often booked out for months at a time, we recommend booking in advance to secure your appointment. 

Piercing appointments can be booked up to three months in advance. Please check available dates on our website and keep checking in case any cancellations or rescheduled appointments become available.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early for your appointment to complete our safety waiver. We allow 30 minutes for each piercing appointment to review the safety requirements, select the available styles and complete this service safely and securely.

We recommend a maximum of three piercings per appointment to support the best healing process.

We can safely pierce one client per appointment. If you would like to share the experience, we recommend booking consecutive appointments or booking a Duo - Piercing for Two appointment, if available.

Please refer to your confirmation email which includes the option to 'Reschedule your Appointment'.

Changes can be made up to 24 hours before your appointment.

We pierce with sterile, single-use needles. These needles are of the highest quality available in the industry and considered the safest method of piercing for hygiene, the precision of placement and healing. 

Our piercers conduct a range of ear piercing placements. These include lobes, helix (outer ear cartilage), flat or conch (inner ear placements) and tragus (the small area of cartilage that partially covers your ear canal) and daith (inner cartilage ridge pierced with a hoop) We also offer nostril and septum piercings.

Everyone’s threshold for pain is different and can vary anatomically from ear to ear. Generally, piercings conducted using needles are less painful than using a piercing gun.

We require a credit card to secure your appointment. In the event of cancellation, late attendance or no-show, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged to the stored credit card.

The only way to secure an appointment is by booking online. To view available appointments please keep an eye on our website which is frequently updated with available appointments.  

If you are running late we will try our best to accommodate your appointment but this can not be guaranteed. If you are running more than 10 minutes late we will need to reschedule your appointment to allow for a safe service and ensure you enjoy the experience.

We are unable to pierce any customers under the age of 6 years and we do not conduct cartilage or nose piercings for customers under 14 years. For persons 6 to 14 years old, only ear lobe piercings are available.

Clients under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian; both client and guardian will need proof of identity and age and relationship through the form of a Medicare card.

Our utmost priority is to ensure the safety of our clients, so we do not pierce clients who are pregnant, less than six months postpartum or breastfeeding in case of infection or a reduced immune system.

The cost of piercing starts at $45 for a single earlobe piercing, and $70-90 for cartilage piercings, and does not include the cost of your chosen jewellery. 18-karat gold and platinum jewellery start from $195, visit our Piercing Lab booking page to see earring styles and prices, subject to availability. Up to three piercings can be conducted per appointment.

We use solid 18-karat gold and platinum options for our piercing jewellery as they are both biocompatible metals to reduce sensitivity and aid healing.

Currently, we do not offer rose gold. As an alternative, customers select yellow gold which has a similar shade.

As a made-to-order business, our jewellery is often produced in limited edition collections. Our team of expert piercers will work closely with you to make sure you find a piece you love.

The jewellery includes a hollow post that goes through the ear and has a fixed flat disc. We refer to this as a threaded backing. The front of the jewellery has a small screw that is fastened into the threaded backing. 

Specially designed for initial piercings, the design and craftsmanship of our Internally Threaded earrings reduce irritation and allow for a smoother insertion into the piercing channel.

To remove internally threaded jewellery, hold the flat back disc with one hand, hold the front with your other hand and using a left motion rotate the front part of the jewellery to unscrew until it comes apart. You are welcome to book an aftercare appointment where one of our expert piercers will assist you. 

SARAH & SEBASTIAN piercings only use internally threaded earrings which are available in various lengths and shapes to seamlessly fit different ear anatomy.

Adhering to a strict process to ensure safety and sterility, we do not pierce with pre-purchased jewellery. Pre-purchased jewellery is suitable to worn in a healed piercing. Piercing jewellery is subject to availability at the time of your appointment and can be viewed here.

We offer a complimentary install of SARAH & SEBASTIAN Internally Threaded Earrings and encourage booking an aftercare appointment. It is important to note that a piercer will assess that the piercing is healed to successfully and safely install.

To gift a piercing service, we recommend purchasing a gift card for the piercing cost (up to $90) plus the cost of the piercing jewellery you would like to gift, which starts from $195. Then the giftee can book their appointment online and pay for the service at their appointment with the gift card.

Yes, a valid credit card is required to secure your appointment however is only charged in the event of cancellation, late attendance or no-show. SARAH & SEBASTIAN gift cards can be used at the appointment to pay for the full service.

To gift a piercing service, we recommend purchasing a gift card for the piercing cost ($90 or $30 for additional piercings) plus the cost of the piercing jewellery you would like to gift, which starts from $195. Then the giftee can book their appointment online and pay for the service at their appointment with the gift card. 

18-karat gold and platinum jewellery start from $195. To ensure the entire service is covered, we recommend purchasing a gift card starting from $285.

An appointment where our piercers can assess your healing process, and offer a downsize if needed.

Contact piercing@sarahandsebastian.com and one of our experts piercers will respond within 24 hours. 

A longer threaded backing is used during your new piercing to accommodate for any initial swelling. It is important to downsize the threaded backing to help aid the healing process and provide added comfort.

Your first complimentary downsize, per piercing, is available during an aftercare appointment.

If required, additional downsizes are $30 each.

As the healing process is different for each individual, we recommend booking a downsize anywhere between 4-12 weeks after being pierced. To check if a downsize is needed, we recommend pressing on the back disk until it’s flush against the back of the ear, then letting go. If there is a visible amount of post sticking out at the front (1.5-2mm or more), then a downsize is required.

SARAH & SEBASTIAN will provide guidance during your piercing appointment as well as an aftercare booklet and recommend NeilMed aftercare mist. If in doubt or if there are signs of infection, please seek medical advice immediately.

There are some repetitive actions that can cause the jewellery to naturally become loose, such as daily beauty routines. Our piercers will always quality check the pieces before any appointment and we recommend checking the jewellery is screwed in as tight as possible.

If your earring has gone missing withing the first month of having it, please email us at info@sarahandsebastian.com. Please include your full name, contact number, and location you were pierced.

If your earring has fallen out and you have it, please book an aftercare appointment where our expert piercer will be able to assess whether this can be re-installed.
