Sarah & Sebastian are excited to introduce a newly created Merchandise Planner to our growing merchandise team based in our Studio in Alexandria.

Reporting to the Senior Merchandise Planner, you will be responsible for managing the forecasting and inventory of our core product lines. You will ensure optimal stock levels, align with sales projections, and maintain budgetary constraints, all while driving profitability and supporting business growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and maintain accurate forward demand forecasts for evergreen collections at the SKU variant level.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and raw materials teams to align demand planning with in-house production capabilities.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure 100% in-stock availability for Icon lines across all locations.
  • Optimize stock turn and minimize excess inventory while meeting business demand requirements.
  • Work with supply chain, merchandising, and finance teams to manage spend within approved open-to-buy limits.
  • Manage in-season trade optimization, ensuring inventory aligns with current demand in collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
  • Utilize ERP systems to monitor stock movements, forecasts, and demand planning.
  • Use business tools to manage forecasting at the Options Plan, WSSI, and MSSI levels.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and business insights to make informed commercial decisions.
  • Develop and present reports on inventory performance, demand trends, and key KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Monitor commodity pricing (e.g., gold) and its impact on GP, providing recommendations on price changes to meet financial GP KPIs.
  • Provide post-season reporting analytics and recommendations.
  • Produce weekly trade reporting for Icon categories.


ABOUT YOU

  • 2-3 years of demand planning experience in retail, preferably in fashion, jewellery or beauty.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, or Merchandise Planning.
  • Strong business acumen with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with raw materials and in-house manufacturing is a plus.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management and adaptability in dynamic environments.

As Sarah & Sebastian’s Inventory Controller you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of our inventory records. 

The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records by processing inbound and outbound stock transfers, performing regular audits, reconciling discrepancies, and providing administrative support for stocktakes. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain Inventory Accuracy: Process inbound transfers from stores and distribute stock to relevant branches, including virtual warehouses.
  • Audit & Reconciliation: Conduct weekly audit tracking for branch-to-branch transfers, sales orders without stock applied, and marketing sales orders. Follow up with relevant parties to ensure timely stock application and accurate COGS recording.
  • Stock Adjustments: Administer approved stock adjustments and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive records of all inventory transactions for audit and reporting purposes. Provide weekly stock adjustment summary and other stock-related reporting to the leadership team.
  • Stocktake Support: Provide administrative and physical stocktake support to both Head Office and Retail Teams, including internal counts, stocktake uploads, and variance reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve inventory management processes. Support training for head office and retail stores on inventory management practices.
  • Omnichannel: Support the Warehouse and eCommerce teams with transaction reconciliation of omnichannel orders.

ABOUT YOU

  • The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles.
  • 2+ years experience in inventory control, stock management, or related role.
  • ERP experience - preferably Cin 7, MS Office, Google Suite, Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.

Reporting to our National Retail Manager you will drive retail trade, ensure operational excellence, build client relationships and grow our retail and services business to further success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the retail and service teams to financial success through exceptional service.
  • Create a client-centric culture by personally developing and maintaining client relationships.
