SARAH & SEBASTIAN’s Ear Alchemy service has quickly become a go-to destination for luxury piercing in Australia, with six state-of-the-art Piercing Labs across the country (and counting) offering personalised styling, anatomy-specific piercing and holistic aftercare to support your healing journey.

While Ear Alchemy has long focused on the creative and functional aspects of piercing, we are excited to elevate the experience with our new Ear Spa appointment—a world-first luxury service dedicated to cleaning and caring for your fine jewellery. As a seamless extension of our Ear Alchemy offering, this complementary appointment provides a moment of calm whilst your earrings are professionally cleaned and your ears are refreshed.

“We see our Ear Spa service as a restorative ritual to add to your regular self-care routine,” says Tamila Purvis, Head of Ear Alchemy at Sarah & Sebastian. “We always envisioned Ear Alchemy as an all-encompassing experience that goes above and beyond the initial piercing, ensuring you receive the care and attention you deserve throughout your journey. Ear Spa is the cherry on top, inviting you to unwind, revive your diamonds and take care of your ears,” she continues.

Daily exposure to the elements and haircare products can cause your earrings and diamonds to lose their original brilliance. Though we’re often inclined to take care of our faces with daily skincare routines, our ears tend to go overlooked, leaving them vulnerable to buildup and dullness.

“Lackluster jewellery is usually a result of residue buildup from haircare, skincare and natural oil from your skin over time,” explains Tamila. “To restore your diamond and gemstone earrings to their former glory and avoid any risk of damaging your precious pieces when cleaning them at home, it’s best to opt for a professional cleaning service,” she adds.

While your ears are being refreshed, it’s also a great opportunity to refine and update your styling with expert guidance from your piercer. “It’s an ideal moment to experiment with fresh combinations of your existing earrings or add new studs, hoops, and pieces from your wishlist to your compositions,” says Tamila.

What To Expect During An Ear Alchemy Ear Spa Appointment

During your 15-minute Ear Spa appointment, a piercer will carefully remove the front pieces of all your healed Sarah & Sebastian earrings, leaving the back posts in your ear. The front pieces are then thoroughly cleaned in a professional Ultrasonic cleaner to lift dirt and residue within the intricate settings of the jewellery. This is followed by a gentle polish by hand with a polishing cloth to restore the natural brilliance of your diamonds and gemstones.

Once your earrings have been cleaned, your piercer will cleanse and revitalise your ears and (healed) piercings with a cotton tip and our aftercare cleaning mist. Finally, the fresh earring fronts are re-installed.
